Profile

Sirius is an iteration of the mascot of the Putorius Shipbuilding Company. She is a polymer-based quadrupedal synthetic creature that vaguely resembles an Earth canine of the dalmatian breed. Her form is a smooth white material with black spots, a black right ear, a blue star over her left eye, and matching blue "internal" surfaces (ears, tongue, mouth). Her paw pads are also a similar blue. She has a seamless metallic green band around her neck that resembles a collar. Inside one ear, the designation SRS-442-4 is printed.

She is a generally bright-eyed and enthusiastic being, eager to explore and learn. She appears to be rather open to communication, but can be rather self-serving at times. She is particularly interested in unusual technology and creatures, and has been known to take samples for her own study. Several sentients have reported being among those samples as well, so caution is recommended when interacting with this being.

Discovery

Sirius formerly was a fairly typical example of her world's species- an anthropomorphic canid with white fur, floppy ears, dark hair, and green eyes of average height. Having found herself lacking in both employment and housing, she was exploring a little-used wooded area just outside of the city she'd formerly been living within. Deep in the woods, she discovered a structure mostly hidden by overgrowth.

After gaining entry to the odd structure, she discovered oddly formed corridors and signs in a language she'd never seen before. Perhaps more surprising was that the corridors and rooms seemed to have lighting and power, albeit intermittently. She spent the next several weeks essentially living in the space ship, exploring what she could and trying to make sense of the writing and displays.

Eventually, she did gain access to more areas of the ship, and found her way to what she'd eventually learn was an engine room of a crashed spaceship, the true nature of the structure. It was there that she was confronted by the voice of the ship's computer over the intercom, which could apparently understand her language after years of monitoring transmissions. Mostly, it told her that it could not give her access as she was not authorized, but that she was welcome to continue to rest in the public areas of the ship.

After encountering some pictures of the Putorius mascot within the ship, noticed that it had superficial resemblances to herself. Assuming the images were of a former crew member, she left the ship to disguise herself as that individual, returning to try and gain access to the private areas of the ship. The ship's computer, which used the company's mascot as an avatar, discovered a work-around of some systems blocks if ordered to by itself, and decided to take her claim at face value.

Aftermath

She was then taken by the ship and 'repaired,' so that she could 'resume' her place onboard the ship as its avatar. This resulted in the synthetic form she has now. While her mind has been changed somewhat by this transformation, she does have access to her old memories, and is aware that she was previously not Sirius. However, she lacks access to certain pieces of information concerning her previous nature, her name being one of them. The ship actively manages her access, as she works to rebuild broken systems. It is likely that the ship will return to space, given the nature of the repairs Sirius is making.
